Are your chargers compatible with my iPhone?

Yes! These chargers are an essential iPhone companion. The USB port replicator tip -included in the box - is also compatible with iPod, MP3s and many digital cameras. However it has come to our attention that users have experienced problems with the new 3G iPhone. We would like to assure you that we are currently working on a fix and will update our website shortly with a solution.

 

Why can't I get my charger to charge from the sun?

There may be a number of reasons for this:

  • It takes 8-10 hours to fully charge many chargers from the sun. With peak charging times between 10am and 2pm, it takes a minimum of 2 days to fully charge a Solio.

  • Placing the charger behind a glass window will also reduce the amount of energy absorbed by the solar panels.

  • Any shadow on part of one or more of the panels will reduce the performance of the charger.

  • For the solar panels to perform at their peak they need to be in direct sunlight and perpendicular to the sun, this requires adjustments to your charger as the sun moves through sky.

  • Clouds, pollution and higher latitudes will have a negative impact on Solio's performance.      

 

How is the USB Port Replicator tip used for charging my iPod?

The USB Port Replicator tip is used in place of the USB port on the side of your laptop or P.C. Simply plug the Adaptor Tip System cable into your charger. Attach the USB Port Replicator to the cable, then insert your iPod cable into the USB Port Replicator. Press the start button on the Solio for five seconds to activate charge. Older Solios came with a female USB cable, which is used in the same way. Warning! Do not use our old USB cable with your tips; it may damage your device!

 

The LED light on my Solio is blinking or flashing red very rapidly, what does this mean?

The red flashing LED indicates that Solio's internal battery may have been damaged. Please contact customer support by completing a Support Form under the Support tab on our website, or by calling us at +1 (510) 868-8714 .

 

Can I charge the charger on a cloudy day?

Yes, the charger will charge on a cloudy day, although less efficiently than when placed in direct sunlight.

 

My Solio no longer holds a charge?  

Just like a cell phone battery, Solio's internal lithium ion battery may eventually need to be replaced. Please contact customer support by completing a Support Form under our Support tab or by calling us at +1 (510) 868-8714.

 

Are solar chargers compatible with my device?  

Through either our Mini USB or USB port replicator tip, can charge many digital cameras. If you have a car charger for your camera, our 12V Universal Adapter will work great. However, our USB tips cannot be used if your camera's Mini USB port is fo

 

The tip for my device is not listed, are new tips on the way?

 We are constantly working to bring new tips and adaptors to the market.

 

My device is not on your compatibility list, can I still use your product?      

Quite possibly. Our 12V Universal Adapter, available on our website, can be used to charge most handheld devices that draw 4-12 volts or 0-1 amps.

 

How does the 12V Universal Adapter work?         

The 12 Volt Universal Adapter works just like the 'cigarette lighter' in your car. Simply connect it to your Solio and plug in the car charger you use for your device.

 

Can I charge a laptop computer with Solio?         

 The larger Brunton changers are well suited to charge computers.

 

My charger doesn't work or I want to return it, what do I do?       

Defective merchandise, unfortunately, is an inevitability. Fortunately, our customer service department is ready to assist you with your return. Email them at customerservice(at)solarconsciousness.com. You will get a response within 24 hours. We must be notified within 21 days of receipt of your intention to return an item. All items canceled before they are shipped will be credited back in full. You may also use the form on the 'Contact Us' page.


Please note that the following items may not be returned:

· Items damaged through misuse.


Upon confirmation of your intention to return a charger, we will provide you with a Return Authorization Number (RA#) which must be prominently displayed on the shipping label in order to be received into our warehouse. If the RA# is not visible, your shipment may be refused. Re-box all returns in appropriate shipping cartons. All original packaging, materials, accessories, manuals and booklets must be returned with the product in original condition.
All non-defective items returned are subject to a 18% restocking fee.
SolarConsciousness.com reserves the right to require the purchaser to return the defective goods directly to the manufacturer for replacement.
